Puffin is committed to safety as the primary consideration whilst conducting Small Unmanned Aircraft operations and other activity. The protection of employees, contractors and the general public is of paramount importance and as such, all operations will be conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
Puffin embraces “just culture” and fosters an open, honest environment where employees are encouraged to voice any concerns over safety related issues so that they can be addressed immediately.
The Accountable Manager must ensure the commercial operation of any Small Unmanned Aircraft is done so in compliance with the conditions of this Operations Manual, the insurance policy, and the Permission for Commercial Operation issued by the Civil Aviation Authority.
To ensure the safest operations are maintained, Puffin Technology Ltd shall implement a safety ethos by:
● Ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, contractors and the general public;
● Operate Small Unmanned Aircraft in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the legislation and the conditions detailed in the Permission for Commercial Operation;
● Ensure that all personnel are suitably trained, current and competent to participate in operations;
● Plan, assess and execute all commercial operations in accordance with the procedures outlined within this Operations Manual;
● Managing risk and implementing suitable mitigation where required;
● Ensure personnel do not deviate from the procedures outlined within this Operations Manual unless acting in an emergency where the relevant Emergency Procedure must be followed;
● Report any accident, serious incident, reportable occurrence or AIRPROX in a timely manner to the appropriate authority;
● Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation, ensuring this document remains compliant at all times;
